Our trip to Guatemala is a true backpacking adventure that includes hiking to limestone pools, river tubing, kayaking, exploring a cave by candlelight, watching the sunrise over Mayan ruins, and hiking the famous Volcano Acatenango while watching Volcano Fuego erupt in front of us. This country is a blend of Mayan history and European influence, and is colorful both in the city and in the jungle. Expect to be wowed.

Karol is a Costa Rican woman who has been a travel guide for nearly two decades in around the world. She is fluent in English and Spanish and has led adventures in Guatemala many times. Her hobbies include reading, writing, hiking and rock climbing. She resides in Costa Rica with her teenage daughter.
